Mother of a CP Child in Iraq
5/12/08 2:24 PM
Hello!
I am Corazon corros, mother of john, 15 with spastic CP. i had a dry labor during his birth and it was a painful one. John grew up same with normal kids before but when he reached 7, he had several seizures. We finally knew after series of examinations that he had a CP. He took medicines for seizures and stopped taking it when his seizures stopped. He had 5-7 seizures before he reached 7. Then as time passes we noticed of his legs moving tiptoe while he is walking then gradually he has difficulties in walking, now he was totally crippled. He had his therapy before i left the country, but the therapy stopped because my husband is at work and he has no time to bring him on his therapy. We cannot rent a person who can bring my son from and to to his therapy everyday because I have 4 kids and we only have meager salary. I am now here in Camp Anaconda, Iraq working as subcontract worker for KBR, to sacrifice so that I may be able to save money for my son's legs surgery. I already seek help to international charitable institution but until now i only received negative feedbacks.I thought there are many charitable institutions that want to help children with CP but until now no one has been able to assist or hear my plea. I am still staying in Iraq so that I can have enough money for his treatment and surgery.
I am hopeful that God will listen to my prayers. I prayed that John can still walk and can go back to school.
Thank you for reading this message.
Corazon
